Dear January, We’re going to do this our way

Well, hello again and Happy 2025! Today is my first day back in the office after the holidays, and I'm slowly sliding back into my dancing shoes and trying to remember that I don't have to have it all figured out already (despite what Social Media would have me believe... amiright?)

I don't know about you, but by the time Christmas rolls around, I'm 100% ready for some time off, yet the funny thing is it's not really time off, is it? By the time I had set my out-of-office message, watered the office plants, and headed out the door for a break, my brain was already in military organisation mode for the days ahead—planning, organising, making lists upon lists of food, gifts, people and events to attend, when I look back, despite being nice things to look forward to, it was pretty exhausting.

So is it any wonder that post-Christmas is a blur of no-one-knows-what-day-it-is until we land upon the 2nd (or in my case, the 6th) January, and BOOM, we land back in the office wondering what the hell just happened?

Getting back into the swing of things after the holidays can feel utterly draining, so if you've been feeling a little bit lost off while the rest of the entrepreneurial world seems to be ON FIRE (especially on social media), give yourself a break, most of it is hype. Social media is just someone else's highlight reel and cannot, in any way, be compared to day-to-day life. If the content inspires you, great! If it doesn't, scroll past it and don't give it a second thought. 

Your time, your way. 

If this message feels like I'm talking to you, then I'm here to remind you that there are no rules. All of the hoopla about the first weeks (or hours!) of January being THE days to have your shit together or it's all going to go downhill is boring at best and damaging at worst. The year is what you make it day to day. Please don't fall for it. 

You already know what you need to do. You don't need more time to prepare, write in a brand new 2025 Journal to validate your ideas or pay for another course, book or training; you just need to be brave. Take my advice; skip the endless 'getting ready' and just do the thing.
