Embracing What Sets You Apart: The Power of Being Unapologetically You

By Tricia Scott
You know me, never one to shy away from a difficult conversation, so here's what's on my heart today.... I want to talk about that part of you you've tried to hide, fix, or convince yourself you need to change. Maybe it's that quirky way you think, that habit that makes people look at you sideways (love a good side eye), or the way you don't do things like everyone else.
And maybe (just maybe) you've spent a little too much time believing that being different means that you're wrong or strange or not good enough, and we can't have that, can we?
From my heart to yours: The things that make you different are the exact things that will make you a freaking powerhouse in your business ← Read that again.
A.A. Milne (the Winnie-the-Pooh guy) summed it up it perfectly: "The things that make me different are the things that make me."
Do you feel that? It gives me goosebumps every time.
Those things you've tried to hide or are in the process of convincing yourself you need to change? They're not mistakes. They're not weaknesses. They're your superpowers, waiting for you to step up and own them.
If you're trying to push yourself to fit into some generic version of success, you're doing it all wrong. The world doesn't need another trend. It needs YOU, whether quiet and demure or full of absolute sass and with more edge than the Hope diamond; Just own it.
I get it. In entrepreneurship, we can often feel misunderstood, like we're the oddball in a room full of people all trying to do the same thing. But the more the world tells you to fit in, the louder your different voice needs to be. Because that's what draws in your kind of people, the ones who get you, the clients who fall head over heels in love with your real, raw, glorious self.
So this week, let's stop apologising. Let's stop trying to force ourselves into tiny, stuffy little boxes we were never meant to fit into in the first place. Let's embrace the parts of us that don't make sense to anyone else because those parts are exactly what make us magnetic.
Consider this your permission slip to be fully, unapologetically YOU. Go wild with it. Be unmissable.
You're not just different; you're exactly what this world needs, and I believe in you (always).
